
True, the overall setup - with a weak cold front due to pass through the Mid-Atlantic that evening - doesn't hold a lot of potential. Forecast CAPE (instability measure) values are low east of the Blue Ridge mountains but the helicity values (rotation potential) are significant, so if storms can fire from lift provided by the cold front there's a chance they will rotate.
And I'm in need of a successful March chase...
