The indications are that the latter half of next week will feature a broad return of Gulf moisture into the Mid-Atlantic region under very warm (near 80 degrees (F)!!) conditions. That, coupled with the possibility of a frontal passage and some upper air disturbances, leads to signs of convective instability and thus the possibility of thunderstorms sometime during the Thursday-Saturday timeframe. It's too early to tell if the setup will lead to any severe weather for Virginia but I will be monitoring the models closely after this weekend.
My chase gear is itching for an early season workout and so am I!
